Have you ever been troubleshooting a problem with remote SQL , remote DB, etc) and wanted to test to see if the local system account (or any account for that matter) could make a remote connection to SQL? Seems there is a file type extension *. UDL that you can simply create to accommodate this. Simply create a new text file and rename the extension to UDL. Execute and your ready to roll….
